Nestled between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean, the University of California is a public research university in Santa Barbara, California. The campus has miles of coastline, a lagoon, and an extension into the Santa Barbara Channel known as Campus Point. Many walking and bicycle paths are found across campus, including around the lagoon and the beach. Part of the University of California’s ten-university system, UC Santa Barbara offers over 200 degrees and programs structured into three undergraduate colleges: The College of Letters & Science, the College of Engineering, and the College of Creative Studies, and two graduate schools: the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management and the Gervitz Graduate School of Education.
